README

claude-writing-tools

A Claude Code plugin for writing and editing English prose.

Skills

simplified-technical-english

Write and review technical documentation in ASD-STE100 Simplified Technical English (STE) Issue 9. Covers all 53 writing rules, the controlled dictionary (875 approved words), word count rules, and an automated linter (ste_check.py) that checks sentence length, vocabulary, tense, voice, punctuation, and more.

Use when writing or reviewing procedures, warnings, cautions, and descriptions for non-native readers, translation, or specs that require STE (ATA100, S1000D, ASD-STE100).

prose-editing

Edit and tighten nonfiction prose — remove clutter, replace weak verb-plus-adverb pairs with strong verbs, cut hedges, break overloaded sentences, fix drifting voice and tense.

Use when editing READMEs, docs, emails, commit messages, PR descriptions, or any draft that reads bloated or wordy. Not for STE-governed or code-reference text.
